I wanted to do a toy drive when I was 8. In all honesty I can't remember why. I think I read a really sad book and thought "hey, I want to do something for these kids who don't get anything on Christmas". I felt really bad, getting tons of toys and nice food and having a wonderful family to share all the joy with on Christmas, when these kids have almost nothing. That year I decided to go caroling and raise some money. I bought 3 toys with the money I got, and donated the toys to the toy drive they have in Stone Road Mall. However for me that wasn't enough, so next year I did something bigger -- I started my own toy drive. I started by get my dad's old company (RLB System Solutions) involved, and worked from there. Since then, I have gotten a lot of support from lots of different schools and businesses, check them out here. The First year I raised 1300 toys. And All together with everyone's help I have donated over 10,000 toys to the women's battered shelter of Guelph, and others.
